Milkweed for Monarchs Invite

Written by Debby Walters | March 19, 2018 | Blog

The Garden Club of Illinois invites Wisconsin Garden Club Federation members and any other gardeners to help increase monarch numbers.  Their goal is to distribute 10,000 packets of milkweed seeds this year.  Milkweed, of course, is the only food that monarch caterpillars will eat.

To get samples of three different kinds of milkweed and lots of information, send a stamped self addressed business sized envelope and $2 cash to: Garden Clubs of Illinois Milkweed For Monarchs Chairman Kay MacNeil, 689 Golf Club Ln., Frankfort, IL 60423.

To purchase 100 packets of milkweed seeds to distribute:  $25 plus $5.00 shipping.  Use the same address as above.  She also has  Save Our Monarchs drop boxes, ($12 box &postage) which hold the milkweed seed packets which can be placed  in libraries and businesses.

For more information about the Milkweed for Monarch program.
