The Wisconsin Garden Club Federation hosted “What’s New Pussy Cat”, a symposium, on August 25-26, 2017 at
Havenswood Environmental Awareness Center. Jim Schmidt, Horticulture Instructor from Illinois, educated the participants on how to judge salvia and sedum specimens. Lynn Fronk, Design Instructor from Ohio shared two of the “new” designs which included cascade and low profile designs. Participants learned the necessary criteria for each of these designs. Members of the Wisconsin Judges Council provided cascade and low profile designs for the classroom discussion and critique and for point scoring. Many thanks to Kitty Larkin and Kerry Krokos for chairing this event.
