1956-1968--Children’s Home—Keeping the gardens looking good. 1956-1957--Traveling Exhibit, Bird feeding in Elementary Schools. 1956--Book published “Fun Time Window Garden” by members. Given to FDL Assn. For Disabled Children and Children’s Home. 1962-1967--”Green Thumb Camera Magic.” Member’s put together slides of horticulture specimens, table arrangements etc. to use as an education tool. 1960-1971--Garden Therapy. Members grew plants and presented them to residents in homes and hospitals. Our club still does Garden Therapy for Seniors. 1970-2024--Arbor Day observation, tree planting in Fond du Lac. 1974-1981--James Otis School for disabled children. The club donated tree markers, bird bath, trees and plants. Children participated with the planting. Club sends funds to Sister Raymond, enables her to buy tools and seeds necessary for the people in Waspam, Nicaragua. This was our contribution to WorldGardening. 1992-2020--Club has a Youth Outreach program teaching children about planting seeds in Elementary Schools. 2005-2024--Club maintains the Butterfly Garden at Lakeside Park. Two benches have been donated and placed by the Butterfly Garden in honor of members who have died. 2017-2024--Club maintains the Thrive Garden for Veterans. |

The Wisconsin Garden Club Federation founded in 1928 is a charter member of the National Garden Club organization. As an organization, we are proud of our heritage of developing relationships with fellow gardeners, learning, and gardening for good in our communities.
