DEFINITIONS
  1. CLOSE UP: A picture taken with the subject close to the camera. The classic close-up is about getting detail. That usually means getting right into the subject. The feeling of ‘closeness’ usually means the photo is taken from less than one meter award. (Google)
  2. Macro: A macro photograph is one in which the size of the subject on the negative or image sensor is life size or greater. In some senses, however, it refers to a finished photograph of a subject that is greater than life size.
  3. Creative Techniques:  A technique by which you combine different shapes, colors, and forms of ordinary moments and turn them into creative art using your photography skills. This type of photography demands a unique way of seeing things and projecting an innovative image, altered from reality. They are intentional ways of improving a photograph.
  4. Landscape: “is the visible features of an area of land, or sea, its landforms and how they integrate with natural or human-made features, often considered in terms of their aesthetic appeal. (Wikipedia)
  5. Color: Photography that uses media capable of capturing and reproducing colors.
  6. Still life or Still Image: A still image is a single, static image, while a still life is a work of art that depicts inanimate objects.
  • Still Image: A single, static image that conveys meaning visually. Still images can be in the form of photographs, poster, graphs, diagrams or documentary architectural drawings.
  • Still Life: A work of art that depicts inanimate objects, such as fruit, flowers, utensils, or other everyday items. Still Life can be natural of manmade and can be simple or complex in composition. They are often associated with oil painting, but can also be made in other medias, such as watercolor, mosaic, or photography.
Hints: Make certain that the image size is the one specified in the rules. Label the image correctly adding the proper class number. Take lots of snapshots and select just one for each class. Be brave. Be prepared. You never get a second chance for the image. Remain flexible and curious.
