Grants Awarded

WGCF is pleased to help fund these projects which improve neighborhoods and communities.
2021 Grant Recipients
  • Botany Belles and Beaus Garden Club of Central St. Croix County worked with a local homeschool group to plan and plant a water retention area in the village of Woodville.
  • Four Seasons Garden Club of Kenosha renovated the Margaret Meyers Memorial Garden.
  • Mount Horeb Garden Club renovating a prairie garden at the head of the Prairie Heritage Bike Trail.
  • Sun Prairie Garden Club received funding towards the construction of a Council Circle at Generation Park.
  • Whitefish Bay Garden Club is working with the public library to educate the public about pollinators and the plants they require and to help private gardeners create pollinator patches throughout the community.
  • Willow River Garden Club is continuing to expand the plantings at the newly installed Blue Star Marker at the head of the Loop Trail outside of Hudson.

2020 Grant Recipients
  • Botany Belles and Beaus Garden Club of Central St. Croix County worked to increase habitat by hosting an educational event with the public library and distributing native trees to community members.​
  • Fox Point Garden Club planted daffodils to brighten up their community.
  • West Side Garden Club of Madison planted and maintained garden beds at the South Side police station.

2019 Grant Recipients
  • Botany Belles and Beaus Garden Club of Central St. Croix County received money to purchase self-watering hanging baskets for Main Street.
  • Bangor Garden Club of Sparta will build a brick planter at Stockyard Park and update displays.
  • Elmbrook Garden Club of Brookfield will be planting for monarchs and other polllinators.
  • Lake Wissota Garden Club of Chippewa Falls is updating the LaFayette Town Hall gardens.
  • Paper Valley Garden Club of Appleton is expanding the gardens at Oak Park Place.
  • Sugar River Garden Club of Verona is expanding its vegetable garden beds for community
  • West Side Garden Club of Madison is planting and maintaining landscaping at the South Side Police Station.
  • Whitefish Bay Garden Club from Milwaukee is working on a rain garden renovation at Silver Spring Park.
  • Willow River Garden Club of New Richmond is improving the reflection garden at the Deerfield residence.

2018 Grant Recipients
  • Gold Star maker placement at the state capitol by the Sun Prairie Garden Club and Madison District.
  • Hill and Dale Garden Club of Elroy is revamping the local museum gardens.
  • Lake Wissota Garden Club of Chippewa Falls is creating a self-guided tour through the Irvine Park wildflower santuary.
  • Sugar River Garden Club in Verona is establishing four vegetable garden beds which will share produce with the community.
  • West Side Garden Club in Madison is vegetable gardening with children at the Theresa Terrace Neighborhood Center.
  • The Willow River Garden Club of New Richmond will use the money to improve the gardens for the residents at the Deerfield, a senior living community.

2017 Grant Recipients
  • Botany Belles & Beaus Garden Club for landscaping around the flagpoles at the newly created Creamery Park.
  • Elmbrook Garden Club worked with a Girl Scout Troop to remove invasive buckthorn and plant native plants.
  • Lake Wissota Garden Club rejuvenated the Bridge St. Welcome Garden at the entry to Chippewa Falls.
  • Sunset Garden Club established a perennial pollinator garden at Fire Station #9.
  • West Side Garden Club worked with Theresa Terrace Neighborhood Center’s summer children’s program to grow vegetables.
  • Whitefish Bay Garden Club funding for a speaker on bees and pollinator plants for public education.
